Loyola College of Law has three major areas of specialization: Public Interest Law, Environmental Law, and International Law.
Public Interest Law
Loyola offers students many opportunities throughout their law school career to gain practical experience, while serving the legal needs of low-income members of our community.
Environmental Law
Loyola recently received an A- ranking from preLaw magazine in recognition of our growing environmental law curriculum. Students will represent non-profit or community clients on environmental issues.
International Law
With its unique dual curricula, Loyola prepares students to practice locally, nationally, and globally.

3L Leila Abu Orf awarded for excellence in corporate law
3L Leila Abu Orf has been selected to receive the Association of Corporate Counsel Award from the Louisiana Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. The annual award was created to promote excellence in the field of Corporate Law by offering incentives to talented students. Leila was nominated for the award by Professor Ray Rabalais.
2012 Alumni Appointed Clerk of First City Court of New Orleans
Timothy David Ray, J.D. ’12, now serves as Clerk of First City Court of New Orleans. He was officially appointed April 25, 2018 by Judge-Elect Ellen Hazeur, who previously served as the court’s clerk.
3L's Paper on Mental Health Care for Undocumented Immigrant Children Published
3L Patrick Murphree has been published in the latest edition of the Seattle Journal for Social Justice. His paper is titled “For the Least of These Brothers and Sisters of Mine: Providing Mental Health Care to Undocumented Immigrant Children.” The paper examines “the recent “surge” of unaccompanied children migrating to the United States.
